Somerfield Hair Mask Review

Its a Wednesday morning here in Auckland, I have started a 30-day yoga programme on Youtube, and I have just completed day two of my yoga (on day four, whoopsie). As I have already started the morning productively, I thought I would also get better at blogging and write up my review of the Somerfield […]

Picked up some new plastic free goodies from @thenaturalconz . . Bamboo toothbrushes - I have been using these for about a year now. Go Bamboo is my favourite brand for the wooden toothbrushes, they have nice soft bristles . A wooden soap tray - you can get one the same from @thenaturalco. I want to trial it in the shower as my soap keeps getting yucky from being wet all the time. I'm just hoping the shower wont warp the wood, although I have a feeling it might. So watch this space . The zero waste toothpaste by @maxwellandmcintyre I tried this the evening it arrived because I couldn't wait to give it a go. It smells like toothpaste and it had me fooled. The taste with this one is going to take some getting used to. I'll report back once I've finished the jar . @the_ama_life body bar and balm, these both smell great. The body bar is a solid moisturiser and I am rather exciting to get using this and rid myself of any last bottles of moisturiser I have. The balm is for after sun care and hydrating your skin. . #madeinnz #nontoxicbeauty #discoverunder1k #makeitblissful #livecolourfully #pursuewhatislovely #bloggerbabe #skincareregime #skincarereview #ecoconcious #sustainablebrand #sustainablelife #circulareconomy #wasteless #ecofriendlyliving #lowimpactmovement #plasticfreeliving #zerowastenz #ecowarrior #ecolife #ecoliving #ethicallymade #environmentallyfriendly #ecofriendly #eco #sustainable #sustainableliving #greenliving #sustainability
A few weeks back at Fat Freddys Drop I was stressing about how I was going to consume alcohol. Anyone who knows me well, will know that I enjoy a wee drink here and there. And what better setting than a beautiful summer's day, a picnic blanket, an awesome group of friends and wicked music to have a few beers. We all know that festivals serve drinks in plastic glasses. A friend of mine was thinking of bringing her KeepCup to use as her vessel, but I was quite skeptical as to whether the bars would be allowed to use a cup or glass that wasnt their own. I was mainly basing this off laws around serving alcohol. I decided that I was going to use one of the bars plastic glasses and reuse that all night. Well... you would not believe how impressed and excited I was to learn that upon ordering my first beer the festival had provided reusable cups. AND they gave you a discount on your next round of drinks if you rescued your cup from the previous visit. I am completely aware that this doesnt solve the issue completely, but it gave everyone an incentive to make an effort to reuse their cups. Myself and my entire group of friends used the same plastic cups for the entire festival. I thought this was pretty awesome and cool. A festival with hundreds of people trying their best to make a bit of a difference in the world of plastic is amazing. Imagine if more festivals and concerts started going this. It's not going to stop plastic going onto landfill, but it will reduce the amount going there in the interim until a better solution is reached! #postitfortheaesthetic #photosinbetween #darlingweekend #theverygirl #everydayethical #ecoeveryday #choosereused #selfloveisntselfish #ecoconcious #sustainablelife #ecofriendlyliving #lowimpactmovement #plasticfreelivin #positivechanges #ecolife #ecowarrior #wastefree #zerowastelifestyle #lowimpact #sustainableluxury #zerowasteliving #ecoliving #environmentallyfriendly #ecofriendly #eco #sustainable #sustainableliving #greenliving #sustainability
And back to my favourite purchases/products of 2018... here we have a chopping board and knife. I was trying to think of ways I could reduce my waste while traveling for work. I sat down, had a look at what waste I was producing on an average trip and brainstormed  ways to reduce it. The main struggles I identified were money and eating well. The most effective way for me to reduce my waste is to eat out for every meal, unfortunately my financial situation does not allow this. Eating well is also something I want to stick to while I am away from home. The struggle here is that customs generally have pretty strict rules about bringing food into countries.. and most easy quick fix meals from supermarkets are prepackaged. I typically go to the supermarket on my trips and pick up my supplies for the layover. My shop will usually include fruit, salads some form of delicious treat and often a bag of chips to munch on while I Netflix in bed. I am a sucker for mango and always bought sliced mango in a plastic box, and berries. I freaking love berries! The salads and berries also come in boxes and needles to say so do the chips and delicious treats.. I thought about buying all the ingredients to make salads, but that just meant I was buying more plastic because everything was already packaged. So I have opted to continue to eat my premade salads that come in a plastic box. It bothers me that this is the more sustainable option. I now carry a chopping board, cutting knife and metal cutlery in my suitcase. I no longer buy sliced mango. I buy a whole mango and slice it myself, I make popcorn at home for my Netflix snacks and try my best to buy fruit that isnt packaged. Although, a punnet of blackberries will still find it's way into my basket every now and then. Who knew something so small and basic could make such an impact on your waste ecofriendly #eco #sustainable #sustainableliving #greenliving #sustainability#everydayethical #ecoeveryday #slowstyling #choosereused#travellust #travelblogging #tblogger #travelcommunity #roamtheworld #borntotravel #womenwhotravel #traveladdict #travelbug #lovetotravel #travelmore #worldtraveler #travelgram#healthyyou #wellnessblogger #we
